Welcome to the Project Self-Sufficiency Campus!

Project Self-Sufficiency is situated on a beautiful, 5-acre campus in Newton, New Jersey.

The campus consists of the Selective Insurance Group Career Training & Employment Center, the B. Douglas Gordon & Elizabeth Houskeeper Gordon Family Counseling Center and the Little Sprouts Early Learning Center, the Senator Robert E. Littell Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency, and the Community Education Center.

Housed within the campus are individual counseling rooms, a legal assistance center, parenting center, working women's wardrobe, a food pantry, state-of-the-art computer labs, vocational testing and assessment facilities, classrooms and seminar spaces, along with a daycare center and preschool.

The Community Education Center contains a large space for community gatherings, a commercial grade kitchen which houses Project Café, and smaller rooms for breakout sessions.

The campus is named in honor of Michael J. Holub, Esquire, the founding Board President of Project Self-Sufficiency.

Family Counseling Center

The B. Douglas Gordon & Elizabeth Houskeeper Gordon Family Counseling Center at Project Self-Sufficiency offers rooms for private meetings with case managers, resource libraries about parenting and legal assistance, a food pantry, the working women's wardrobe, and conference rooms for seminars and larger group gatherings.

Little Sprouts Early Learning Center

The Little Sprouts Early Learning Center is a fully-staffed, daycare center and preschool located on the Project Self-Sufficiency campus. With space for 83 youngsters, ages 6 weeks to 6 years, Little Sprouts boasts two fully-equipped playgrounds, certified teachers in every classroom, a large indoor gathering space, community garden, a sick room, computer labs, and spaces for art projects, sand play, reading and more.

Career Training & Employment Center

The Selective Insurance Group Career Training & Employment Center at Project Self-Sufficiency offers day and evening computer classes, employment skills training programs, testing and assessment services, preparation for the HiSet exam, career seminars, and special programs for seniors, women, and men in state-of-the-art computer labs and seminar spaces.

Community Education Center

The Community Education Center at Project Self-Sufficiency is home to the new Project Café, a commercial kitchen used by Sussex County Community College for culinary arts training and by other community members in need of an appropriate cooking space. Many community events are hosted in the large gathering room here, including the annual Season of Hope Toy Shop and Heath Fair, bi-annual Career Fairs, and Sussex County Family Success Center activities. The space is available to community groups for meetings.

Journey Family Success Center

The Senator Robert E. Littell Journey Family Success Center at Project Self-Sufficiency contains private study areas, counseling rooms, a large computer lab and a children's library.
